Ust. Abdul Hakim bin Amir mentioned that it is in fact forbiden to strap yourselve with bombs in an effort to kill yourselve and at the same time the enemies IN TIMES OF JIHAD... and hence what more in time of peace. He gave example of situation in Indonesia where young people who have wrong knowledge of Islam who become a suicide bomber. Not only these people has killed innocent people but at the same time have caused damages to the property which Islam is totally against that sort of behavior.

AfterMath of Gaza Invasion

I have a video below that showed the physical and emotional damaged the Israel had done to the innocent people of Gaza. no doubt it has enraged me. It was reported that Israel had used new weapons including biological weapons in Gaza. Have you ever wondered the real purpose of Israel invading Gaza?

Well i believe that Israel used the Invasion as a form of "try out" for the weapons and strategy. Perpahs this could be a preparation for the upcoming invasion towards IRan... Possibility is there. However, if my hypothesis were to be right... then Israelis who did all these shouldn't deserve to live.

You may think that Israel is doing it for a right cause by invading Gaza, however the source or news you gathered from are mainly controlled by Israel and US. When it comes to news, its not about what they show in the news but rather what they don't show in the news. So cross reference your news source, and be prepared to see great contradictions.

The following are excerpts from Save the Children UK press release, issued December 30, 2008: "Already before the strikes began, one in four children in Gaza was suffering from malnutrition. Even before the latest rise in violence, 50,000 children were malnourished, 70% had a vitamin A deficiency and almost half of children under age two were anaemic due to the border blockade .. With malnutrition rates already this high, children are extremely vulnerable to catching diseases which, with a break in food aid and medical supplies, could end up fatal .. Of the 1.5 million living in Gaza, 1.1 million were dependent on food aid from agencies like Save the Children. Now, all families in Gaza are being forced to survive on any stocks they might have had in their house when the attacks began .. Even for those who have money and make it to stores to buy food, most shops aren’t open or don’t have any supplies. Babies are particularly vulnerable. Though there is still some powdered milk available, many mothers are already running out of safe water to mix it with, and there are barely any dairy products left at all." Israeli warplanes on Tuesday, December 30, pressed on for the forth consecutive day its intensive airstrikes on several targets across the besieged Gaza Strip, killing and wounding more Palestinians. Also on Tuesday, Israeli warplanes struck a police station at Tufah neighborhood in Gaza City, another house and a factory. The Israeli warplanes had also bombarded a metal workshop and a diary products factory in central Gaza City, causing severe damages. The warplanes also targeted training bases for al-Qassam Brigades in northern and southern Gaza Strip. Overnight, three Palestinian civilians, two children and an adult, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beit Hanoun village of northern Gaza Strip. The medics said Lama and Haya Hamdan, 4 and 11 years old respectively (photo above), were killed when an Israeli warplane hit a cart pulled by a donkey when they were riding in the village. Mo'aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency and ambulance services in the Palestinian health ministry, told reporters that since Saturday, Israel has killed 369 Palestinians in the intensive airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. Over 1,700 people were injured, more than 400 of them in critical conditions, he said, adding that around 100 wounded had managed to reach Egyptian hospitals for medical treatment. Hassanein warmed of a humanitarian crisis and more death in the Gaza Strip due to the shortage of medicine, blood, special gases for surgical operations and other medical equipment. New Year's resolutions can be bad for you: mental health charity

AFP - Thursday, January 1

LONDON (AFP) - - Making self-improvement New Year's resolutions often leaves people feeling worse, the British mental health charity Mind has warned.

Mind urged people not to make resolutions focusing on physical imperfections -- such as attempting to lose weight -- because they create a negative self image and lead to feelings of low self-esteem, hopelessness and even mild depression.

And when such optimistic resolutions fail, that could spark feelings of inadequacy and failure, the charity warned.

"New Year's resolutions can sometimes focus on our problems or insecurities such as being overweight, feeling unhappy in our jobs or feeling guilty about not devoting enough time to friends and family throughout the year," said Mind chief executive Paul Farmer.

"We chastise ourselves for our perceived shortcomings and set unrealistic goals to change our behaviour, so it's not surprising that when we fail to keep resolutions, we end up feeling worse than when we started.

"In 2009, instead of making a New Year's resolution, think positively about the year to come and what you can achieve."

Mind suggested resolution-makers focus instead on being active, connecting with nature, learning something new and working for one's community.

Wednesday, i pretty much had a nice time spending the morning till early afternoon doing some studying and research at the library. And followed by a movie with my best bud; Idris. The movie; body of lies - A CIA operative attempts to uncover a major terrorist operation in Jordan, but he doesn't know which of his allies he can fully trust.

I guess i ididn't pretty much enjoy it and i totally am against the fact that the terrorists in the movie are portraying Islam and for someone who basically ain't educated about the true Islam might very well have the impression of Islam being the religion of terror.

The media in fact; controlled by the kafir always show a guy in black mask with an AK 47 rifle and shouting "Allahu Akhbar". what is the media trying to imply here... On the other hand, despite that... the number of converts to Islam has been increasing - Alhamdulillah and MasyaAllah. An Ustaz who works in the Singapore Muslim Convert did share with me that every month there's at least 50 converts to Islam.

Beside that, i came across Surah Luqman verse 19 which Allah mention about the volume of our voice when we speak and the pace at which we should walk

وَٱقۡصِدۡ فِى مَشۡيِكَ وَٱغۡضُضۡ مِن صَوۡتِكَ‌ۚ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ ٱلۡأَصۡوَٲتِ لَصَوۡتُ ٱلۡحَمِيرِ

Ruling on jihad and kinds of jihad

Praise be to Allaah.

Firstly:

Jihaad is of various kinds, some of which are obligatory upon everyone who is accountable, and some are obligatory upon the community as a whole – if some people undertake them then the rest are relieved of the obligation. And some kinds of jihad are mustahabb.

Jihad al-nafs (jihad against one’s self) and jihad al-Shaytaan (jihad against the Shaytaan) are obligatory upon everyone who is accountable. Jihad against the munaafiqeen (hypocrites), kaafirs (disbelievers) and leaders of oppression and innovation is obligatory upon the community as a whole. Physical jihad (i.e. fighting) against the kaafirs may become an individual obligation upon everyone who is able to do it in certain circumstances, which will be described below.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

Once this is understood, then jihad is of four kinds: Jihad al-nafs (jihad against one’s self), jihad al-Shaytaan (jihad against the Shaytaan), jihad against the kaafirs and jihad against the hypocrites.

Jihad al-nafs (jihad against one’s self) is of four kinds:

1 – Striving to learn the teachings of Islam without which one cannot attain success and happiness in this world or in the Hereafter; if this is missing then one is doomed to misery in this world and in the Hereafter.

2 – Striving to make oneself act in accordance with what one has learned. Simply knowing without acting, even though it may not cause any harm, is not going to bring any benefit.

3 – Striving to call others to Islam, teaching those who do not know about it. Otherwise one will be one of those who conceal that which Allaah has revealed of guidance and teaching, and it will not benefit him or save him from the punishment of Allaah.

4 – Striving to bear patiently the difficulties involved in calling people to Allaah and the insults of people; bearing all that for the sake of Allaah.

If a person achieves all these four levels, then he will be one of the rabbaaniyyeen (learned men of religion who practise what they know and also preach to others. Cf. Aal ‘Imraan 3:79). The salaf were agreed that the scholar does not deserve to be called a rabbaani unless he knows the truth, acts in accordance with it and teaches it to others. Whoever teaches, acts in accordance with his knowledge and has knowledge, he will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Jihad against the Shaytaan is of two types:

1 – Warding off the doubts that he stirs up to undermine faith.

2 – Striving against him to ward off the corrupt desires that he provokes.
The first jihad is followed by certainty of faith, and the second is followed by patience. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And We made from among them (Children of Israel), leaders, giving guidance under Our Command, when they were patient and used to believe with certainty in Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)”

[al-Sajdah 32:24]

Allaah tells us that leadership in religion is attained through patience and certainty of faith. Patience wards off desires and certainty wards off doubts.

Jihad against the kaafirs and hypocrites is of four kinds: with the heart, the tongue, one’s wealth and oneself. Jihad against the kaafirs is more along the lines of physical fighting whereas jihad against the hypocrites is more along the lines of using words and ideas.

Jihad against the leaders of oppression and innovation is of three kinds:

1 – Jihad with one's hand (i.e., physical jihad, fighting) if one is able. If that is not possible then it should be with one's tongue (i.e., by speaking out). If that is not possible then it should be with one's heart (i.e., by hating the evil and feeling that it is wrong).

These are the thirteen types of jihad, and “Whoever dies without having fought or having resolved to fight has died following one of the branches of hypocrisy.” (Narrated by Muslim, 1910).
Zaad al-Ma’aad, 3/9-11)
Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“Jihad is of various kinds, with one’s self, one's wealth, by making du’aa’, by teaching and guiding, by helping to do good in any way. The greatest form of jihad is jihad with one’s self (i.e., going oneself and fighting), followed by jihad with one's wealth, jihad by speaking out and guiding others. Da’wah is also part of jihad. But going out oneself to fight in jihad is the highest form.

(Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 7/334, 335)

Secondly:

The idea of waging physical jihad against the kaafirs went through a number of stages, depending on the state in which the Muslim ummah was. Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“The first thing which his Lord revealed to him was to read in the name of his Lord who had created. That was the beginning of his Prophethood, where Allaah commanded him to recite to himself but He did not yet command him to convey that. Then He revealed the words (interpretation of the meaning:

‘O you (Muhammad) enveloped in garments!

Arise and warn!’

[al-Muddaththir 74:1-2]

So he became a Prophet with the word ‘Iqra (Read!) and he became a Messenger with the words, ‘O you (Muhammad) enveloped in garments…’ Then Allaah commanded him to warn his closest kinsmen, then to warn his people, then to warn the Arabs around them, then to warn all the Arabs, then to warn all of mankind. He continued to call them for over ten years from the beginning of his Prophethood, without fighting or imposing the jizyah; he was commanded to refrain, to be patient and to be forbearing.

Then permission was given to him to migrate, and permission was given to him to fight.

Then he was commanded to fight those who fought him, and to refrain from fighting those who left him alone and did not fight him.

Then Allaah commanded him to fight the mushrikeen so that the religion would all be for Allaah.

After jihad was enjoined upon him, the kaafirs then fell into three categories: those with whom there was a truce or peace treaty; those with whom he was at war; and those who lived under the rule and protection of the Islamic state.”

(Zaad al-Ma’aad, 3/159)

Thirdly:

The ruling on physical jihad against the kaafirs is that this is an obligation on the community as a whole (fard kafaayah).

Ibn Qudaamah said:

“Jihaad is an obligation upon the community; if some people undertake it, the rest are relieved of the obligation.”

What fard kafaayah means is that if it is not undertaken by enough people, then all the people are guilty of sin, but if enough people undertakes it, the rest will be relieved of blame. Initially the command is addressed to all of them, as in the case of an individual obligation (fard ‘ayn), but then in the case of fard kafaayah the obligation is dropped if enough of the people undertake to do it, unlike the case with fard ‘ayn where the obligation is not dropped if someone else does it. Jihad is a fard kafaayah, according to the majority of scholars.”

Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz said:

“We have previously explained on more than one occasion that jihad is fard kafaayah, not fard ‘ayn. All Muslims are enjoined to support their brothers with their selves (i.e., physically, by joining them), or with money, weapons, da’wah and advice. If enough of them go out (to fight), the rest are freed from sin, but if none of them do that then all of them are sinners.

The Muslims in Saudi Arabia, Africa, North Africa and elsewhere are obliged to do their utmost, and if there is a jihad in one country, the surrounding countries should hasten to help them, the closest then the next closest. If one or two states, or three or more, manage to fulfil the obligation, then the rest are freed of responsibility. They deserve to be supported, and it is obligatory to help them against their enemies, because they are oppressed. Allaah has enjoined jihad upon all Muslims, and they must fight against the enemies of Allaah until their brothers are victorious. If they fail to do that then they are sinners, but if sufficient people undertake to do that, then the rest are absolved of sin.”

Fourthly:

Physical jihad against the kaafirs becomes obligatory in four cases, which are:

1 – When the Muslim is present in a jihad situation.

2 – When the enemy has come and attacked a Muslim land

3 – When the ruler mobilizes the people, they must respond.

4 – When a person is needed and no one else can do the task except him.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said:

Jihad is obligatory and becomes fard ‘ayn if a person is present where fighting is going on. This is the first of the situations in which jihad becomes an individual obligation, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve, in a battlefield, never turn your backs to them.

And whoever turns his back to them on such a day — unless it be a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own), — he indeed has drawn upon himself wrath from Allaah. And his abode is Hell, and worst indeed is that destination!”

[al-Anfaal 8:16]

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said that running away on the day when the army is advancing is one of the sins that doom a person to Hell. He said: “Avoid the seven sins that doom a person to Hell…” among which he mentioned running away on the day when the army is advancing (agreed upon). But Allaah has made exceptions in two cases:

1- When it is a military manoeuvre, in the sense that he is leaving to bring reinforcements.

2- When he is going to join another group, when he has been told that there is a group of
Muslims elsewhere who are about to be defeated, so he goes to join them in order to strengthen their numbers. This is subject to the condition that there is no risk to the group he is in; if there is a risk to the group that he is in, then it is not permissible for him to go to the other group. In this case (jihad) is an individual obligation upon him (fard ‘ayn) and it is not permissible for him to leave.

The second situation (in which jihad becomes an individual obligation) is when a city is besieged by the enemy. Then he has to fight in defence of the city, because when the city is besieged there is no alternative but to defend it, for if the enemy is going to prevent people from leaving the city or entering it, and prevent provisions from reaching it, and other things which are well known, then in this case the people of the city are obliged to fight in order to defend their city.

The third situation is when the leader tells the people to mobilize; the leader (imam) is the highest authority in the state, but he need not necessarily be the leader of all the Muslims, because there has been no leader of all the Muslims (khaleefah) for a long time. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Listen and obey, even if you are ruled by an Abyssinian slave.” So if a man becomes a leader, then his word is to be heeded and his commands are to obeyed.

From Abu Huraira who said that the Prophet (saw) said, "You will not enter Paradise until you believe and you will not believe until you love one another. Should I not direct you to something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread the salaam amongst yourselves. (Muslim)

The Prophet (saw) said:
Seven will be shaded by Allah in His shade on a day when there is no shade except His shade:

1) a just ruler,
2) a young man who grew up worshipping his Lord,
3) a man whose heart is attached to the masajid,
4) two men who loved one another for Allah - they came together on that basis and they parted on that basis,
5) a man who was called by a beautiful and classy woman but who said, "I fear Allah",
6) a man who gave charity so will concealed that his left hand did not know what his right hand was spending
7) a man who remembered Allah when no one was around and his eyes flowed with tears.

"Allah Most High said: My love is mandatory for those who love one another for My sake, those who sit together for My sake, those who visit one another for My sake and those who rush to give and sacrifice for one another for My sake."

Verily, the centermost handhold of belief is that you love for Allah's sake and hate for Allah's sake.

"Ya Allah aku menandah kedua tanganku lalu meminta kepadamu..., permudahkanlah urusan ku serta urusan-urusan sekalian muslimin dan muslimat di seluruh dunia. Masukkanlah kami kepada Syurga mu dan hindarilah diri kami dari nerakamu. Lindunginlah diri kami ini daripada terpadayai oleh dunia yang penuh dengan permainan ini.... Whats your take on Adoption?

All praise to Allah, the Almighty; the most merciful. For he has provided us with a comfortable leading life in Singapore. It makes you wonder what are the street kids in The Philipines doing as you take a bite on your delicious yet scrumptious Macspicy double or sizzling warm yet not to salty french fries in an air conditioned comfortable sofa at Macdonald.

Them, waiting patiently by the bin for any passerby to dispose their leftover food in the dirty black bin.

Lately, i have been thinking and pondering... how do i go about adopting a kid overseas. And so i did my research and thus came up with some results. I have to be 25 years of age, at least and the age difference between me and the child i adopt has to be a gap of 21 years.

I will and no one will stop me from adopting a child. I have tasted the sweetness of having a mom, a dad, siblings, cousins, relatives... and so i want to share it with the adopted child.

Now i need your opinion and perhaps share of experience in this social service field. Share with me your thoughts!!! I would so appreciate it...

Purpose, Vision in Life.

I borrowed a book tittled, strategies to be a millionaire and in the first chapter the author mentioned about how vital the Purpose of life is as it leads your motivation to take action. And so i wrote down my Purpose and Vision in life.

My Purpose In Life.

- This is no doubt, To Worship Allahu azza wa ajalla.

Vision in Life.

- To perform my duty as Allah's slave and leave whatever he has commanded.
- To be a Millionaire and with the Money, i have a big dream to set up a children hospital that serve poor and needy kids who needs medical attention. This will also serve as a centre that provides education, proper clothings, food, clean water, toys and etc.

I wanna be a Millionaire by 24, money isn't what i'm chasing. But with Money i'll be able to give Zakaat, sedekah and performs act of worship that Allah has commanded. InsyaAllah...

In 2 months, i'll be graduating. I'm thinking of furthering my studies in Business Management or Entrepreneurship. But of course, coming from an average family money would be the concern. I'm trying hard to get both of my parents retire as soon as possible and support them.

I'm going to set up a tuition centre with my close friend and with that profits i could possibly spend it for studies or so. The risk is high, especially for me to fork out all that i have in my savings into this. Whatever happens, my Purpose in Life stays the same.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ۬ قَدِيرٌ۬ - For Allah hath power over all things.

A Hefty loads of great time in the weekends.

Weekends and including Friday was just amazing.

Friday, i went to Al Falah to solat my Ishak and followed by hanging out at Wheelock Borders... i love that place. It was a coincidence to have known the bilal at Al Falah was my Ustaz best buddy, we had some great chat though. Alhamdulillah...another new pious friend to my list.

Saturday, as usual had my tuition class in the morning and gosh they were really wild. I guess as they get closer to me, they start all their nonsense. Well, it was fun though... but of course there were limits to everything they did and i was a little pissed off when they took my hp that i accidentally left in the class. Geez, they called and messaged people in my contact list and asking them if they were my girl. hahaaa... those kids are totally wild.

After tuition met up with my close friends... met up at jurong library, had our lunch and caught the movie, The Coffin. It isn't as good as it seems. Doesn't make sense, i never really like horror movie...simply doesn't give me the horror feeling. haha.

Anyway, mom's birthday was yesterday. I decided not to give her any present but instead gave her some extra cash, more than usual. Well i guess she would love to go and do her own shopping as compared to me buying something for her.

Month of Syawal,

Alhamdulillah, thank Allah for all the great Happiness and health he has given to me and my loved ones.

Its been a long time since i updated this blog though. For the first day of Ramadhan, i felt the victory and i was no doubt enjoyed with the fact that i had fully made used of Ramadhan. Alhamdulillah.

Test from Allahu azza waajalla

As'salam mualaikum,

In this Ramadhan, verily there are indeed so many tests that Allah is giving me. I remembered on the first day of ramadhan, my best buddy Idris and I went to somewhere near Bugis to purchase Al-Quran with tafsiran.

On the way there, out of a sudden i felt an extremely sharp pain in my stomach. I never felt that much pain ever before even in the other months. The pain lasted for almost an 1 hour, but i just stayed and looked normal as i didn't want to trouble my friend in delaying some time getting some rest.

Deep in my heart, i was making dua to Allah to relieve the pain. And Alhamdulillah, with patience the pain was gone. With all the tests, it made me a stronger person...InsyaAllah.

For me, school started 1 week ago. 4 more months to graduation!

Kissing in the month of Ramadhan

As'salam mualaikum,

And yet again... I thank you O Allah for letting me live another day in this dunia and for letting me perform ibadah in this month of Ramadhan. Syukran Ya Allah...

It is known that having sexual intercouse in the month of ramadhan or in the process of fasting is forbidden. It is evident from this Hadith Sahih

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:

A person came to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: Messenger of Allah, I am ruined.
He (the Holy Prophet) asked: What has brought about your ruin?
He said: I have had intercourse with my wife during the month of Ramadan.
Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) asked: Can you set a slave free?
He said: No.
He (the Holy Prophet again) asked: Can you observe Fast for two consecutive months?
He said: No.
He (the Holy Prophet) asked: Can you provide food to sixty poor people?
He said: No. He then sat down and (in the meanwhile) there was brought to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) a basket which contained dates.
He (the Holy Prophet) said: Give these (dates) in Charity.
He (the man) asked: Am I to give to one who is poorer than me? There is no family poorer than mine between the two lava plains of Medina. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) laughed till his molar teeth became visible and said: Go and give it to your family to eat.

Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [Arabic only]: 1870

From the above Hadith, having sexual intercouse is indeed forbidden. On the other hand, kissing is allowed in the process of fasting. This is evident from 2 hadiths sahih below.

'A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated:

The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) kissed one of his wives while he was fasting, and then she ('A'ishah) smiled (as she was narrating).

Another hadith in relation to kissing during fasting

'Umar bin Abi Salamah, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
I asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him): Could one observing Fast kiss (his wife)? The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said to him: Ask her (Umm Salamah). She informed him that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) did that, whereupon he said: Messenger of Allah, Allah pardoned you all your sins, the previous and the later ones. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: By Allah, I am the most God-fearing among you and I fear Him most among you.

Friday Prayers Khutbah

My dear brothers, may you all be blessed by Allah,

On this blessed Jumaah, from this mimbar, I remind myself and all brothers to increase our consciousness of Allah through taqwa. Let us do all that Allah has ordered, and refrain from all that He has forbidden. May we all be placed in His blessings and pleasure, Amin Ya Rabbal ‘Alamin.

My dear brothers,

In a few days time, we will meet a glorious and very blessed month. The Holy Prophet s.a.w. would break the good news to the companions when this month approaches:

Which means: It has come unto you the month of Ramadhan, a month full of blessings. Allah has ordered you to fast in this month. In this month, the doors of paradise are open wide, whilst the doors to hellfire are tightly closed, and the devils are locked up. There is one night in this month which is better than a thousand months. Whomever fails to reap its benefits and blessings, will never reap any kind of benefit and blessing.

(Hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad)

I am sure we all know the benefits of the month of Ramadhan. But after knowing how special this month is, how do we benefit from it? Are we letting this Ramadhan pass by, as we normally treat it in the past? Or what should we do this time round?

My dear brothers,

If we truly want to reap the greatest benefits from this coming Ramadhan, we must make the appropriate preparations. Allow me to make a suggestion: Let us look at Ramadhan as a school or college. A school that nurtures us and strengthens our iman as Muslims.

The question is, how do we prepare to step into the school of Ramadhan?

My dear brothers,

To become excellent students, we need to prepare ourselves before we go to school by reading the subject that will be taught at school. We are also encouraged to have a schedule or time-table to study or revise.

Similarly, in order for us to be excellent students of Ramadhan, we need to prepare by having an effective scheduling or time-table for our activities in this month.

Part of our preparations to enter this school is to repent to Allah and ask for His forgiveness for all our wrongdoings. Indeed, this is the first step for us to prepare to enter Ramadhan. Allah s.w.t. says in the Holy Quran:

Which means: “and turn to Allah all of you, O believers! so that you may be successful.”

(An-Nur verse 31)

But we need to stress here that when we talk about repent, it is not simply what we normally do; verbally saying Astaghfirullahal 'Aziim, but our minds not fully conscious of what we actually say. Let us repent to Allah truly and totally. Let us not repeat the wrong things that we have done, such as wasting our time and being lazy, or hurting others with our words, actions or our thoughts.

Secondly, we should prepare by training ourselves to be consistent and persistent in doing good. We should train ourselves to love Allah more than anything else and to rely fully on Allah s.w.t. Allah s.w.t. says in surah al-Anfaal verse 24:

Which means: “O you who believe! answer (the call of) Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life; and know that Allah intervenes between man and his heart, and that to Him you shall be gathered.”

Thirdly, we should train all our senses that are endowed upon us by Allah, to do good at all times. We train our eyes to always look at the Holy Quran and read it, and we don’t allow our eyes to look at the forbidden things. We train our ears to listen to the Quran, to knowledge, and we don’t allow them to listen to lies and unworthy words or conversations. We train our tongue to always mention the names of Allah, to remember Him, to encourage people to do good, and to stop others from doing evil, and to speak the truth. We will be asked on our actions manifested in each of these senses. Allah s.w.t. says in the Holy Quran:

Which means : “And follow not that of which you have not the knowledge; surely the hearing and the sight and the heart, all of these, shall be questioned about that.”

(al-Israa' verse 36)

Fourthly, we should take care of our health. Good health will help us to perform our ibadah consistently and seamlessly.

All these are part of our preparations before we enter into the school of Ramadhan.

My dear brothers,
In order to excel and be consistent in this Ramadhan, we need to prepare a daily time-table.

A time-table will help us immensely to organise our activities and to achieve our targets and objectives. When we draw up this time-table, we need to have both short and long term objectives.

For example, if our short term goal is to complete the recitation of the Holy Quran in Ramadhan, we should then divide the recitation across the whole month and on a daily basis. But we should also then have a long term objective, such as to continue to recite the Holy Quran after Ramadhan.

If for example, our objective is to strengthen family relationship, then we should identify and allocate certain days in Ramadhan to break fast, perform terawih or qiyamullail together with our families. But for the long term, we should also have plans to have activities together with our family after Ramadhan.

When our objective is to further improve and strengthen our iman, we should plan to fill the days of Ramadhan with specific ibadah, but for the long term, we must also plan that our ibadah will shape us into morally guided individuals.

These are just some of the examples to serve as a general guide. But there may be some differences between an individual and another, based on capabilities and needs. Thus, the plans can differ and be varied.

Hopefully, when we make adequate preparations, such as by repenting, being consistent, protecting our senses and our body, knowing our capabilities and scheduling our activities, Insya Allah, we will be able to graduate from the school of Ramadhan with great success. Amin ya Rabbal ‘Alamin.

As'salam mualaikum,

Alhamdulillahi robbil alamin, wossalu tu wassalam ambiyahi mursalin wa ala alihi wassohbihi ajamin, 'amma ba'du.

All praise to Allah, the most gracious most merciful for the wealth that he showered us with, for the health that he gave us and the ability to praise him night and day.

Yesterday night, I had a talk with my UStaz and told him about an Uncle in the masjid who worked as a custom officer. The pakcik told me that i shouldn't go to Indonesia for pelajaran agama because the Singapore Government will be monitoring you and your family too. Thus he said perhaps i can look into Malaysia instead.

And so my Ustaz gave me an advice, "Apabila seseorang itu sudah mentapkan niatnya untuk keluar mencari ilmu agama atau di jalan Allah, maka bersedia sedialah untuk menghadapi banyak halangan"... Allahu Akhbar.

Di dalam surah, Al-Fatiha yang berbunyi

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ (٥

5) Engkaulah sahaja (Ya Allah) Yang Kami sembah dan kepada Engkaulah sahaja kami memohon pertolongan.

You are the only one O Allah that we worship and you Alone we ask for Help.

"Ya Allah, mudahkanlah urusan ku di Dunia ini supaya dapat ku menuntut ilmu agama. Ya Allah engkaulah yang Maha Besar dan sesungguhnya tiada kuasa yang lebih kuat daripada mu. Maka aku memohon kepada mu; selalulah di sisiku ini apabila menghadapi halangan."

I wouldn't want to have a wife who already was touched or kissed by some other guy who was her bf or non mahram...

Marriage; choosing your life partner

Assalamu'alaikum,

Alhamdulillah, wassolatu wassola mu'ala Rasulillah, Wa'ala alihi wasohbihi waman waala, 'amma ba'du.

The main reason i included the topic above is because i watched this Malay Drama about a women A who at first married a men she love but the men didn't have any religious commitment. And so, her first husband actually divorced her after liking a new women.

Women A then went back to her kampung and actually married a man with high religious commitment. At first she didn't like her husband because she never love that man. But however as time goes by, she changed and with the help of her new husband and she actually repented from her old mistakes and live happily with her new husband.

Praise be to Allaah.

The most important factors for a woman in choosing a husband are his attitude/behaviour and his commitment to religion. Wealth and lineage are secondary matters. The most important thing is that the potential husband should be religious and have a good attitude, because if a man has religious commitment and a good attitude, a woman has nothing to lose: if he keeps her (remains married to her), he will keep her on a reasonable basis, and if he divorces her, he will set her free on a reasonable basis. Moreover, a man who is religious and has a good attitude will be a blessing to her and her children, for they will learn good manners and religion from him. But if the prospective husband is not like that (is not religious), she should keep away from him, especially those who take the matter of prayer lightly or who are known to drink alcohol. We seek refuge with Allaah.

As for those who do not pray at all, they are kuffaar and it is not permissible for them to marry believing women. It is important for the woman to focus on the matter of attitude and religious commitment. With regard to the matter of lineage, this is a bonus. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If there comes to you (to propose marriage to your daughter etc.) a man with whose religious commitment and attitude you are pleased, then marry (your daughter) to him.”

But if you can manage to ensure compatibility (in terms of lineage and socio-economic status, etc.) as well, then this is better.

Sports in Islam

Assalamu'alaikum, Alhamdulillah, wassolaatu wassalamu 'ala rasulillah, wa'alaa alihi wasohbihi waman waalaa, 'ammaba'd.

Features of sports in Islam are many. In fact, many Islamic obligations include physical activities in addition to spiritual activities and ways of straightening behaviour. Prayer, for example, is a spiritual purification as well as motions for the body. Hajj also involves physical effort in its various rituals. So do visiting fellow Muslims and the sick, and walking to mosques.

All kinds of social activities in Islam can be considered to be a physical exercise of the body and a way to strengthen it, as long as these activities are done moderately.

Among the sports that the Prophet, peace be upon him, played are the following:

Running. It was a form of training for travelling, jihad, seeking provision, etc. It was reported by Ahmad ibn Hanbal that the Prophet raced Aishah and she outran him. Then they had another race where he outran her, where upon he said,"This time makes up for the other."

Horsemanship and horse racing. In Sahih Muslim it is reported that Allah's Messenger said, "Ride horses, for they are the legacy of your father Ismail (Ishmael)."

Archery. A number of hadiths show that this sport was popular among early Muslims. Uqbah ibn Amir said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah saying while he was on the pulpit, 'In the verse, [And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war], the word power means archery; the word force means archery."

Fencing. Arabs knew a sport by the name niqaf, which is in fact the origin of fencing as known today. One of its forms was a special dance that the Prophet witnessed being done by Abyssinians inside a mosque. This niqaf refers to some movements being performed with arrows. In a narration reported by Abu Salamah, those Abyssinians were playing with their spears.

Wrestling. The Prophet wrestled with a number of men, one of whom was Rukanah ibn Abd Yazid ibn Hashim ibn Abdul-Muttalib, who lived in Makkah and was a skillful wrestler. (Al-Hakim, AbuDawud, and At-Tirmidhi) .

Swimming. As-Suyuti reported that Abu Al-Qasim Al-Baghawi narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas that the Prophet and some of his Companions once swam in a stream. That day, the Prophet said,"Let everyone among us swim towards his friend." The Prophet himself swam towards Abu Bakr until he embraced him saying, "Here I am and my friend" (see Al-Zurqani's comment on Al-Mawahib Al-Ladunniyyah, vol. 1, p. 194).

Overseas Studies

Assalamu'alaikum,

Alhamdulillah, praises to Allah Azza Wajalla for giving me the opportunity to call for Him again and again.Syukran Alhamdulillah.

Its the holiday now and for the next 3 weeks. I have been pretty much occupied myself with alot of stuffs. My Ustaz from Mesir is back in Singapore...Alhamdulillah, he gave me a call last Wednesday to meet up with me. I'm glad he's back because i'm considering of going Overseas to seek Islamic Knowledge.

I have been thinking lately of going to Overseas, perhaps Mesir for Islamic studies after my graduation on January. Probably i have like 6 months before entering NS, so it would be a great time to go overseas. And i was also planning to further my studies after NS in Business Management or Hospitality Management Overseas. InsyaAllah...

Its been fun being young...hahaha. So gonna fully Utilize my youth days.

Oh yes, Zul is taking his PSLE... InsyaAllah, i will Doa for you my dear brother.

Books and Knowledge

Life has been really busy with creating and executing Marketing Strategies even since the internship started. Well tomorrow i gotta go to the Science buddies HQ for contract signing of my part time contract as a teacher. And guess what i just applied for a position as a Property agent in Propnex. InsyaAllah, i can get that...

I know it may be a big load of work for me and especially not to forget my projects in school; Fitness for ladies and my upcoming FYP. With all these great amount of work loads, it gets me pumping to achieve all that and the crave to taste the sweetness of success from all that i am striving for.

On the other hand, I have always been holding to the principles that... i may be busy with the Worldly stuffs, but with Allah's will, i try to balance my dunia and Akhirat. And one thing i feel is that i shall never miss my prayers.

Saturday; National Day was spent at Home. Doing work, Reading books on Sales and Negotiation that i borrowed on Friday. What i feel is that experience is really critical in being successful. And there's 2 ways that you can obtain experience. One in which you experience it first hand and secondly when someone shares it with you or you read about it.

I am going to set up my own business, i'm looking at the begining of next year. InsyaAllah... I know that from all my experience that i can gain from my Internship, 2 years of sales experience, Tons of projects that i did when i was the President for Bizz ig, reading plenty of books and many more... they will all come in handy for my business.

At the end of the day, whether i am successful or not... the purpose of my existence in this Dunia is to Worship you O Allah... :)
